Synopsis

FOR THE LOVE OF LIFE, the new feature film directed by Gonzalo Mejía, is a humane family comedy that blends emotion and humor in a story of reconciliation with a strong Latino identity and international appeal. Set in multicultural Miami, the film authentically reflects the bilingual dynamics and daily life of new Hispanic generations in the United States.

Starring DAVID CHOCARRO (100 días para enamorarnos, Mi verdad Oculta) and ELENY REYES, the film tells the story of Gerónimo, a structured man who left his corporate life behind to pursue pastry making. His routine is disrupted when his daughter Clarissa—with whom he hasn’t had a relationship in years—is forced to serve house arrest at his house.

What begins as a forced coexistence between two strangers linked by blood transforms into a delightful journey filled with tension, humor, and irony. Both will find the chance to face what they could never say to each other and, unexpectedly, find their way back to one another.

Through cakes, failed recipes, and confessions, FOR THE LOVE OF LIFE offers a sensitive and optimistic look at family bonds and the possibility of rebuilding them.
