Monumental Decadentes – The Movie, a musical and film production that captures as never before the essence of Los Auténticos Decadentes, one of the most beloved Argentine bands in Latin America, and especially among Mexican audiences.
Filmed at Mexico City’s iconic Plaza de Toros Monumental during the massive concert in May 2024, this 90-minute feature film – directed by Diego Álvarez and produced by Plataforma together with Cinemex – combines the great show moments with comedy sketches starring the band members, recalling the spirit of cinema in the most emblematic genres: western, science fiction, and comedy.
It is much more than a musical show, it is a celebration of the link between Mexico and the famous band that has marked so many Latin generations throughout the continent with its unparalleled joy, irreverence and scenic power.
With special appearances by Los Caligaris, Mateo Sujatovich (Conociendo Rusia) and Systema Solar (Colombia), the film not only covers the band’s greatest hits, but also highlights their influence on Mexican audiences and the region as a whole.
Monumental Decadentes is a tribute to the festive and transgressive spirit of the band, which invites you to sing, dance and laugh for 90 minutes with a repertoire that fuses humor with ska, rock, cumbia, pop, quartet, candombe and bolero as only they can achieve.
