Synopsis
GLOWSTAR MEDIA proudly announces its alliance with the production company AP FILMS to lead the International Distribution of HIJOS DE LA REVOLUCIÓN, a feature-length fiction film inspired by real events, which seeks to make visible, from an intimate and powerful perspective, the harsh events that marked Venezuela during the last quarter of a century.
SONS OF THE REVOLUTION is an independent Venezuelan fiction, recognized and awarded in several national and international festivals, including Chicago, which highlighted its approach in portraying -with realistic objectivity- the main milestones experienced in Venezuela during the last 25 years.
The feature film — which also pays tribute to the leadership and struggle of Venezuelan women — tells the love story of two young people from families with opposing social classes and ideologies, both born on the same day: February 4, 1992, when then-Lieutenant Colonel Hugo Chávez led a failed coup d’état that would forever change the course of the country.
With an intimate, deeply human, and visually powerful narrative, Children of the Revolution reconstructs the last decades of Venezuelan history through a storyline shaped by love and social drama, while revisiting the country’s most significant events and their emotional, familial, economic, and human impact.
Through private investment, Amaury Mogollón and his Colombian partner, Wanna Perilla — the film’s producers — decided to fulfill their dream of telling the world why there are now more than 7.7 million Venezuelan refugees and migrants, according to data from the Inter-Agency Coordination Platform for Refugees and Migrants from Venezuela.
A film that joins recent productions like Simón — which ranked among the top 10 most-watched on Netflix — and Relatos del Exilio, in the shared goal of shedding light on a fundamental — and often silenced — part of Venezuela’s contemporary history and its diaspora.
Trailer
The destinies of Laura and Tomás, two young people from different social classes and racial origins, are united by a historical coincidence: they are both born the same night that an attempted coup d’état changes the course of their country’s history. Thus, not only their lives, but also their love story will be tragically linked to the ups and downs of the Venezuelan revolution.
